Straight Sight is a leading provider of Comprehensive School Vision Assessments. We offer students in our local schools BULK BILLED FREE VISION TESTING and provide all eligible student FREE glasses.

Each Comprehensive Vision assessment includes consultations with two eye care professionals (Orthoptists and Optometrists). 

 

Our Process

 

• Orthoptists come out and do their assessment. This focuses on vision, eye posture, eye teaming, eye focusing, and eye tracking skills. A short perceptual assessment is also done to help identify children who may have visual processing concerns. 

• Optometrists take an in-depth look into the health of the front and back of the eyes. A full refraction is also done to determine the presence of any  prescriptions for glasses. 

 

Reports

• Parents have reports sent back to them with the results of their child's Comprehensive Vision Assessment.

• Children requiring glasses will also have an additional ‘Order Form’ sent to the parents.

• Class teachers receive a 1 page summary of the problems found with students in their class.

• The School Principal is sent a summary report of the prevalence of concerns in each grade. 

 

Glasses

All students who requires glasses based on their vision, eye posture and symptoms will have the opportunity to choose their FREE frames at school. Straight Sight organises the appropriate lenses AND delivers the complete glasses to the school.
